A Remarkable Debut: Zhuhai Base Goes into Production with Estimated Output Value of 100 Million!
- German company Siegwerk has officially started production at its Zhuhai base, producing food-grade packaging coatings with an initial estimated annual output value of over RMB 100 million.
- The packaging coatings made at the Zhuhai base are environmentally friendly and contain no toxic substances, and can be used as inks for everyday liquid food packaging such as milk cartons and juice cartons, as well as for tobacco packaging.

Recently, German company Siegwerk held an inauguration ceremony for its Zhuhai production base. The base will produce food-grade packaging coatings in Zhuhai, and its annual output value is initially estimated at more than RMB 100 million.
According to Chen Zhenggang, enterprise operations manager of Siegwerk's Zhuhai production base, the packaging coatings produced by the company in Zhuhai are not only environmentally friendly but also contain no toxic substances. They can be used as inks for everyday liquid food packaging (milk cartons and juice cartons) and for tobacco packaging.
“Siegwerk Group will further increase its investment in the Zhuhai base next and build the Zhuhai plant into the company's main high-end ink production base in South China,” he said.
It is understood that the site where Siegwerk is located was originally a coatings manufacturer, but due to weak product competitiveness, it had long been in a state of semi-suspension of production. A relevant person in charge of the Investment Service Center of the Gaolan Port Economic Zone said that the zone's investment promotion department and government service department worked together, and through secondary investment attraction and in accordance with the zone's Three-Clear land policy, jointly introduced Siegwerk.
A few days ago, Siegwerk also launched its “Packaging Development Support Program” service, aimed at helping brand owners and converters develop new and innovative packaging and helping them “further plan the future of packaging.”
Siegwerk will provide brand owners (Brand Owner Business) and converters seeking packaging design and hoping to improve their products' impact at the point of sale with the experience and creativity Siegwerk has accumulated in packaging.
This service is delivered by combining individual design concepts, the functional needs of brand owners, the technical needs of packaging converters, and the need to comply with existing laws and regulations on packaging inks.
With this service, Siegwerk can provide brand owners with broader ideas, more feasibility, and proven technologies, and can help turn packaging concepts still in the pipeline into reality.
Siegwerk stated that through this service, companies can further plan the future of packaging, and the Packaging Development Support Program can be regarded as the company's innovation factory for determining the best packaging solutions.
