Imported Soy Sauce Selling Hot Online Turns Out to Be Fake Made from Blended Seasoning Sauce

Recently, the Shanghai Railway Transport Court heard a case involving the production and sale of counterfeit and inferior soy sauce and oil products. Ma, Li, Wang, Si and others formed multiple counterfeiting chains: they purchased compound seasoning sauce, customized packaging bearing the Japanese “萬” trademark, filled it to pass off as brand-name soy sauce for online sale, and also disguised ordinary soybean oil as flaxseed oil and olive oil for sale, with total sales exceeding 400,000 yuan. Upon appraisal, the soy sauce involved was a commodity with a counterfeit registered trademark, and its amino acid nitrogen index was far below the minimum limit of the national standard. The four defendants passed off fakes as genuine, and their acts constituted the crime of producing and selling counterfeit and inferior products. Taking into account each person’s role in the crime, as well as circumstances including truthful confession, admission of guilt and acceptance of punishment, return of illegal gains, and prepayment of fines, the court sentenced the four to fixed-term imprisonment and fines in accordance with the law.

At present, China’s supply of agricultural products is ample, and consumer demand has shifted from “whether there is any” to “whether it is good.” This plan responds to consumption upgrading, supports high-quality agricultural development, and boosts the building of an agricultural powerhouse.
