From January to March 2026, there were 19,939 above-designated-size enterprises in the national packaging industry, achieving operating revenue of RMB 486.5 billion and total profit of RMB 16.911 billion. Under the influence of continuously developing foreign trade, the export market of the packaging industry is also active. Paper packaging has become the mainstream packaging production material thanks to its green, environmentally friendly and recyclable advantages. From January to March 2026, the national packaging industry completed a total import and export value of USD 12.993 billion, of which imports were USD 1.58 billion, down 5.48% year on year, and exports were USD 11.413 billion, up 10.71%.
